Hawai‘i Island Festival of Birds – Ho‘okula Manu
September 15-18, 2017
Recently, a dedicated group of Big Island birding and tourism professionals have been creating a new concept for Big Island residents and visitors – the very first Birding Trail in Hawai‘i (birding trails can be found in every other state across the country). The Hawai‘i Island Coast to Coast Birding Trail’s (HICCBT) mission is to inspire awareness, understanding, and protection of Hawai`i Island’s natural heritage. This festival is the perfect family-friendly event for residents from all points of the island (including students) with a desire to experience the wild and natural resources of their island home, avid birding and nature tour groups in search of Hawai‘i’s wildlife, and casual nature enthusiasts visiting the island.
DATE, TIME and LOCATION
The festival will include a TRADE SHOW and ARTS AND CRAFT FAIR on Saturday, September 16, 2017 (one day only). This event will take place in or around the Keauhou Convention Center at the Sheraton Keauhou Resort in Kailua-Kona (78-128 Ehukai Street) from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Volunteer, Sponsorship and Donation Opportunities
General sponsorships and donations in any amount are gratefully accepted. Some opportunities for sponsoring specific festival components are still available. Auction items are also needed for silent and live auctions to be held on Saturday.
