General Admission Schedule

You can still purchase general admission tickets either on-line or at the door. General Admission tickets are $10 (you get $5 in Birdie Bucks to use for merchandise at the Festival). Keiki 15 and younger are free with paid adult admission.

9:00 – 4:00 Silent Auction (artwork, activities, miscellaneous merchandise)

9:00 – 4:00 Informational and sales booths open

9:30 – 10:30 Brian Sullivan, eBird.org – Digital Media for Birders

10:45 – 11:45 Noah Gomes – Historic Hawaiian birdcatching

12:00 – 12:45 Screening of “Struggle for Existence” – Laurie Sumiye’s award winning documentary about the recovery of the Palila followed by question/answer session with the filmmaker

1:00 – 2:00 Hawaii Forest Bird Survey Panel Discussion – Past, Present, and Future of Hawaii’s Birds

1:00 – 3:00 Special Exhibition of Hawaiian birds by artist Catherine Hamilton

2:15 – 3:15 Chris Farmer, American Bird Conservancy – Saving Hawaiian Birds: Concrete Actions to Prevent Further Extinctions

3:30 – 4:00 Contest and Silent Auction winners announced

What to Wear: Casual and comfortable, flipflops (or slippers, as we call them here) are just fine

What to Bring: Notepad and pen if you’re the type who likes to take notes

Food Provided: none, but food is readily available at Sheraton and nearby restaurants
