After a year and a half of planning, we’re just days aways from the first annual Hawaii Island Festival of Birds. There’s a great lineup of speakers, activities, and tours and the chance to meet birders and bird experts from all over the country.
We are just about sold out on most activities that require preregistration, but you can still purchase tickets at the door for general admission from 9-4 on Saturday, September 24. Keiki 15 and under are free with a paid adult admission, so bring the whole family.
Also on Saturday, we have only one more spot available on the breakfast hike and six seats left in the photography workshop. The last day to buy tickets for the Gala Dinner & Auction is September 20. Prepaid tickets are required for the Gala Dinner so don’t miss this deadline. Some of the special items up for auction include a multi-island guided birding tour, some outstanding framed photos and artwork of native birds of Hawaii (including a rare hybrid amakihi/Hawaiian creeper by Bob Nims), and a trip to the mainland with airfare and entry tickets to the annual Verde Valley Birding Festival in Cottonwood, Arizona next April.
On Sunday, we have one more seat available on the sneak peek tours. The pelagic boat tour is also almost full with just two seats left.
Hope to see you all at the Festival!
